If you know me, you know I love color. When you walk through my closet, you’ll think a unicorn ate too many skittles and threw up all over my hangers. And that’s how I like it.
But sometimes one wants to go against the grain, think outside one’s box, and get back to basics. This weird So Cal weather is making me go back to basics, like black and white. And I have to say, I’m kind of loving the simplicity. Not only because it makes it easy to match things and run out the door—because no matter how much I plan, I am ALWAYS RUNNING LATE.
My friend and phenom designer, Amanda Shi designed this amazing silk blouse available at American Rag Cie. It’s cut loose and breezy, and feels like I’m not wearing anything at all. In this crazy LA heat, it’s amazing. With a loose blouse, it’s always good to throw on a pair of skinnies, or something figure flattering so you play with fit. My one rule of dressing is always play with at least ONE juxtaposition. It keeps things interesting.
I added my favorite pair of metallic stilettos (adding metallic for texture) from Kenneth Cole (on sale at Amazon), a bright pair of red sunglasses, and stack on my LULU AND THE BEAR jewelry (my line) and BOOM. That’s my outfit of the day. And by adding shades, I don’t need to really do eye make-up. *I’m doing a happy dance cause I might actually be on time today!*
