Many of you know Lulu. She’s been in my life for over 5 years. And she’s #everything.
My dad rescued her from a Wal-Mart parking lot. He saw a man holding her and complimented him on how good looking she was. He said she looked like my dog, the now dearly departed Moose. The man said, ‘you like her? you can have her’ and handed Lulu over to him with her little puffy halter and 2 toys. That was the end of her relationship with that family.
Lulu came into our family and made a mess of things. Not only was she a puppy, but she was about 10 months old and couldn’t be potty-trained….for another 10 months!!! I mean come on! I personally am surprised she stayed as long as she did in our house, as I was about to pack up all her belongings in a bindle and send her on her way, that stubborn teen of a dog!
But her sweet demeanor and all out awesome furbaby attitude got me. It made me fall for her and as much as I hated losing a 5-layer silk comforter to her urine, or cleaning up many many puddles of pee every single morning, I’m so glad she somehow found us and completed our family.
After Moose and Stella passed away, I tell Lulu she’s the ‘last of the Mohicans’. She’s all I have now. We toy with getting another puppy to keep her company, but I also see she’s reveling in being an only-dog right now. So as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.
