Shop Pink

October 27, 2013

I was back on CBS’s The Talk with some really great items and brands that support breast cancer research and awareness. This is a disease that affects countless women, men, and families across the world. And I’ve always been appreciative of how our nation dedicates an entire month to recognizing our fighters, survivors, and their families. And another great way to say, I support you and our nation’s efforts to find a cure is to support organizations that encourage us to Shop Pink. These organizations donate a portion of their proceeds to Susan G Komen, Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the National Breast Cancer Foundation among others. Now matter how often or how long, it is always great to show your support for the fighters and survivors of cancer.transcendent scents

Right now, my SHOP PINK picks are the beautifully indulgent PASSION and WHITE NARCISSUS Candles by NEST FRAGRANCES and UGG AUSTRALIA’s ANSLEY slippers.

Let’s start with NEST Fragrances. The PASSION candle was originally developed to honor Evelyn Lauder and benefit her Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Evelyn was a true leader in breast cancer research and awareness and her husband continues to fight in her honor.

The candle comes in a mood brightening pink with a small metallic ribbon at the bottom. What you need to know is that this smells of peony and garden roses and heaven and happiness. This makes me feel as if I’ve entered into a warm and soothing bedroom that’s there to envelop me and help me wash away my day.

Nest also offers WHITE NARCISSUS. I’d love to say this smells of puppies and rainbows, but doesn’t. It’s supposed to smell of French mimosa, dewy muguet, and creamy sandalwood. But what I smell when I take in this scent is narcissus, jasmine, slight citrus and a whole lot of happiness. It makes me think of puppies and rainbows–which is better than smelling them. 🙂

Now let’s talk footwear. My good friend is pregnant. My sister-in-law is pregnant. Everybody’s going to have swollen feet. And since we need to honor our mothers to be and keep them comfy, I look straight to UGGs. They’re known for their amazing sheepskin footwear that are casual, cozy, and actually wearable outside. When I slipped on the Ansley slippers, which are limited edition and created to benefit Susan G Komen, I fell in love. The lambswool has been dyed a wonderfully fun pink tone to complement the beautiful suede brown. There’s much furriness to keep your feet warm, but enough wiggle room so my mommies-to-be have room to grow/swell and still stay comfy. I’m a fan because of the soles — they can be worn outside — and are cozy enough to stay in all day inside. Plus they have the sweet jewel pink ribbon to show support for Breast Cancer Research.

You can’t go wrong with any of these buys.
