Most of us use Facebook as a means to connect to friends and family. Well two adopted women used FB in a different way, they used FB and discovered that they were twins separated while still infants. It’s a fascinating story that shows us what THE PARENT TRAP would have looked like in an age of social media, before Lindsay Lohen became THE LOHAN. You can see the trailer above. The documentary looks very interesting, and I can’t wait to see the reaction from South By Southwest, where it will premiere later this month.
The story introduces viewers to the almost inimaginable, yet heartwarming story of a French fashion student, Anaïs Bordier and L.A.-based actress Samantha Futerman, identical twins separated at birth who didn’t know the other existed until YouTube and Facebook. The movie follows the girls’ whirlwind journey, from their initial FB messages and Skype calls to their DNA test. You can see the timeline on Facebook Stories, which reveals some fascinating nature vs. nurture details, like the fact that they both hate cooked carrots! But the most interesting thing that this story brings up is the strength of love–and the inescapable power of family.
